Lizbeth K. Garcia-Bravo, Ph.D.

Dr. Garcia-Bravo earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed psychologist. She completed her APA-approved internship and postdoctoral residency at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System in San Antonio, where she specialized in clinical geropsychology and rural mental health. She has also received training as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). She has worked with patients in diverse settings through her broad training and work experiences, including VA hospitals and hospice units, brain injury rehabilitation programs, university counseling centers, and private practice.

Dr. Garcia-Bravo has extensive experience working with a wide range of clinical issues, including depression, anxiety, cognitive disabilities, self-esteem issues, anger management, stress management, relationship issues, caregiver burden, dementia, aging issues, grief and loss, career and life choices, rehabilitation, and adjustment difficulties. Her professional interests include brain injury rehabilitation, aging issues, depression, anxiety, diversity and multicultural issues, and neuropsychological and psychological assessment. Dr. Garcia-Bravo provides counseling and assessment services in English and Spanish.

Dr. Garcia-Bravo helps guide individuals in self-discovery and personal growth by offering a safe, supportive, and trusting environment. Her therapeutic style involves using various techniques to complement the client’s unique needs, while working collaboratively to understand and work through thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which may be causing discomfort or pain in their lives. By offering guidance and a nonjudgmental stance, individuals can foster change, develop new coping skills, and rearrange their life into one that is more meaningful and satisfying.

Dr. Garcia-Bravo is married and has two young children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling, and more recently, kickboxing for health and fitness.
